About FGDP(UK) Scotland

We were formed in 1992 as the academic home for general dental practitioners (GDPs) and dental care professionals (DCPs) in the UK. Based at The Royal College of Surgeons of England, our aim is to improve the standard of care delivered to patients through standard setting and accreditation, training, education and research.

Around 95% of the dental care in the UK is provided in the primary dental care setting It is therefore hugely important that we look after the continuing professional development and training needs of both dentists and professionals complementary to dentistry working in this field.

The FGDP(UK) is divided into divisions throughout the United Kingdom. In Scotland, there are currently three divisions: West of Scotland, East of Scotland and North of Scotland.

This website contains information about our study days, study groups and news related to the Faculty in Scotland. Details about Faculty examinations and membership can be found on the main FGDP(UK) website.
